How can we help?

fin reads the bank SMS and notifications you already receive and turns them into a private ledger on your phone. There's no account and no server, so everything below happens on your device.

Found a bug or have an idea?
Email helloizzylogic@gmail.com. A screenshot helps. If a bank message was read wrongly, include the SMS text with the card number and balance blurred out.

Getting started

Common questions

Which banks does fin understand?

fin reads transaction alerts from banks anywhere, in any currency and number format. It knows dozens of banks by name, including ADCB, Emirates NBD, FAB, Mashreq, HSBC, Citi, Standard Chartered and AMEX, plus Tabby and Postpay. If your bank's messages aren't picked up, add its sender under Settings → Manage senders, or email us the SMS text (with personal numbers blurred) and we'll teach fin its format.

A transaction has the wrong category.

Tap it and pick the right category. fin learns from your corrections and applies them to that merchant next time.

A charge shows up twice.

fin merges the same purchase when it's announced by your bank, your wallet and a BNPL app. If a duplicate slips through, tap it and delete it, then let us know which senders were involved.

My bank has gone quiet.

fin notices when a sender that usually messages often stops, and says so in Settings. Check that the bank still sends SMS alerts and that fin still has SMS access.

Can I move my data to a new phone?

Yes. In Settings, export a backup (you can protect it with a password), then restore it on the new phone. You can also export your transactions as CSV at any time, including after the trial ends.

Does fin upload my messages?

No. Parsing and storage happen on your phone, in the app's private storage. There are no analytics and no crash reporting. Uninstalling fin deletes everything. Read the full privacy policy.

How much does it cost?

fin starts with a 33-day free trial, long enough to see a full month of salary, rent and bills, before a simple subscription.
